New owners reopen Prospect Diner
[Note: The name "Prospect" appears to be good news for diners these days; first the Prospect Mtn. Diner reopened in Lake George, NY, now this 50's era Kullman is back in business in PA. Debra Jane Selzter has some photos of the diner prior to its renovation here. RJD]

By Chad Umble | Lancaster Online | May 14, 2008

The Prospect Diner, along Route 462 between Mountville and Columbia, reopened this week with new owners and a newly polished look.

April Conroy serves customers Tuesday at the Prospect Diner.

The 1950s-era diner, which had been closed for about a year, is now owned by Michael Conroy and his wife, April.

Conroy said the couple did a "total renovation," which included major upgrades in the kitchen and installation of new equipment. They also redid the red vinyl in the booths and on the stools.

The diner, just west of Prospect Road, has seating for 50 at a counter and booths and features homestyle food for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with many items made from scratch.

Over the years it has had a series of owners and several names, including Benji's Diner and 3-D Diner.

Hours: 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, 6 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday.
