The international diner phenomenon. I stumbled upon a chain of "diners," which apparently began in Lebanon (the country, not the city in Central PA) and have now moved on to the United Arab Emirates. Thought you might find it interesting.... RJD

Watertown's Deluxe Town Diner adds beer and wine to menu
By Jillian Fennimore | Watertown Tab & Press | March 27, 2008

Watertown, MA
Diners run rampant in Watertown. From one side of town to the next, residents can get their fill of breakfast food and late-night meals.

Now at the Deluxe Town Diner, patrons can sit back a while longer and enjoy a beer with their burger or a glass of wine with their beef stew.

Owners Daryl and Don Levy were granted a beer and wine license from the town’s licensing board last year, according to Licensing Chairman Donna Doucette.

Just last Friday, they have introduced the simple selection to their menu at the landmark Mt. Auburn St. eatery.

“A lot of people enjoy a beer or a glass of wine at dinner time,” Don Levy said. “This is just another reason to come to the diner.”
