[NOTE: One more in the sad (and seemingly endless) long line of "how many generic chain drugstores does one nation need? The Farmington is, as I recall, a 50's era Mountain View. RJD]

Planning board members will consider razing the 1950s-era Farmington Diner at the intersection of U.S. Routes 4 and 27 to make way for a proposed Rite Aid Pharmacy.
The meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. the Farmington Municipal Building.
The project would relocate the store from its current location in West Farmington to Main Street that was built in 1994. The proposed 14,673-square foot building would include a grocery, photo and digital camera department and consumer products as well as a pharmacy with a drive-in window.
The project would also require demolishing a gas station and vacant building. According to the application, site work would begin in September and the store would be completed by May of 2008.
