Route 66 Treasure Hunt
By Ron Dylewski | TheAmericanRoadside.com | August 7, 2005 route 66 sign

Spurred by the success of the "World's Longest Yard Sale," a two-decades old event along the Rt. 127 corrider in Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia and Alabama, a group is now organizing a similar event along Rt.66.

The St. Clair Missouri Chamber of Commerce is mounting the "Route 66 Treasure Hunt" for the first time ever this September. It will run from the first through the fourth. According to a release from the Chamber, "This year participation is mainly along I-44 in Missouri; however, it is our vision to have folks participating along the entirety of Old Route 66."

Communities and vendors who might want to join in the fun are urged to contact the organizers by visiting their website here.
